WEEK FIFTEEN ...DAY SEVEN

AMBITION
I realized this morning I posted two Day Fives!
The Royal Wedding must have flustered me!
I'm going to continue this series of Japanese Matz
until the opening of the PS Zask Gallery exhibition on May 14th.

WEEK FIFTEEN...DAY SIX

TIME
My goodness....I don't have an appropriate piece
for The Royal Wedding!
Let's just think Big Ben.

WEEK FIFTEEN...DAY FIVE

SHOES
Was downtown LA yesterday visiting
FIDM - Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising
so I had to present
my fashion mat today.

WEEK FIFTEEN...DAY ONE

HAPPINESS
I've been invited to a special "Unity" exhibition
at the Zask Gallery's new location in Rolling Hills, CA.
A percentage of all the sales are going to benefit Japan.
So I'm designing "Matz"- arty laminated mats,
many with Japanese symbols,
to be sold for $16 each.
I'm hoping volume here.
This is one of the first images.

WEEK FOURTEEN...DAY SEVEN

GEESE
This is the back of the bus.
Flip side of the entrance
but on a major street.
This was a gift.

WEEK FOURTEEN...DAY SIX

VILLA BONITA ENTRANCE
Voila!
A couple years after the installation.
Foliage is nice and lush.
The Por paint and gold leaf is immaculate.
Everyone is happy.

WEEK FOURTEEN...DAY FOUR

ATTACHED STEEL
The steel pieces were lasered cut by a factory in Long Beach, CA.
Holes were also drilled to attach each element to the wall with spacers.

WEEK FOURTEEN...DAY THREE

WELDER
The garage faced a major street
so I suggested to the contractor that those
grates should be decorated, too.
Here's my welder attaching a flock of geese.

WEEK FOURTEEN...DAY TWO

INSTALLATION
I can design anything.
But I need a small army of experts
when it comes to the installation.
I always go for the best looking help I can find!

WEEK FOURTEEN...DAY ONE

BONITA VILLA
This is my most current installation for the City of Burbank, California.
The contractor interviewed me first....and never looked at another artist!
He now lives in Seattle but had this piece of property
he always wanted to develop in his old neighborhood.
My only criteria: include each of the daughters favorite:
Rabbits, Wolves and Butterflies.

WEEK THIRTEEN...DAY FIVE

GRAND RIPOSA
Created for my first exhibition in Palos Verdes.
Sold immediately to a collector in Manhattan Beach.
I think it means the best rest ever in Italian.

WEEK THIRTEEN...DAY FOUR

CLOSE
On closer inspection, I can see that this is a repulsive little painting.
Probably a life long couple, out of shape,
with their fleshy body parts resembling an unclothed Botero.

WEEK TWELVE...DAY SEVEN

BILL CLINTON - DENY, DENY, DENY
Not one of my favorite personalitites...sort of the Tiger Woods of his day.

WEEK TWELVE...DAY SIX

PRINCE CHARLES (AT 50)
Daddy's first born is getting married.
It happened to me at his cousin's castle in Germany.

WEEK TWELVE...DAY FIVE

THE KING MUHAMMAD ALI
Dance like a butterfly, sting like a bee.
This guy packed a punch all thru his life.

WEEK TWELVE...DAY THREE

VINCENT AND ELVIS
Somehow, these two ended up performing together.
Outside the window a photo looks in of a collage I created.

WEEK TWELVE...DAY ONE

LADY GAGA
This week I'm concentrating on the movers and shakers
that permeate our consciousness.
So let us start with the one and only,
larger than life, believe in yourself, wear anything and everything,
 super star
Lady Gaga.

WEEK ELEVEN... DAY SEVEN

PLAQUE
Every ending has a plaque.
Although, I did continue doing additional risers
on two separate stairways into the complex just to unify the appearance.
MII AMO is still a vibrant "magical passageway"
delighting all who come and go.
