WEEK NINETEEN...DAY THREE

THREE PLATES
In the beginning of working with clay,
one either forms the shape by pinching and manipulating by hand
or rolling out the clay on an industrial size rolling table and slumping it over molds.
I created four plates and bowls with dragon medallions
that are still my favorite pieces to this day.
The fish platter I can't really take any creative credit for,
except maybe choosing the glaze.
And the textured shape was produced by pressing
with wooden dye blocks into the surface before it was slumped.
Not bad for a beginner!
